I founded National Homegating Day in September of 2019 with the registrar at National Day Archives. I took my passion for tailgating and took it indoors!  National Homegating Day is a day where you move the tailgating festivities to your home.

Homegating is doing all the things you normally do at a tailgate: games, grilling, food, friends, fun and then moving that away from the stadium and into your home.

Invite your friends over, fire up the grill and get ready for the biggest game of the year: SUPER BOWL SUNDAY and have a homegating party like never before.

The first National Homegating Day was celebrated on 1/1/20. We decided to move the National Day to now coincide, each year, with the Super Bowl as, after further consideration, the Super Bowl has always been the biggest homegating party before National Homegating Day was founded, so shouldn’t we celebrate on this day too?
