At this point of my life I need more than just a basic tailgating chair. No I’m not getting uppity, I’m just keeping it real. The good news is that there are getting to be more chairs that have fun features to help you enjoy the tailgate more. I stumbled upon the Kelsyus Canopy Chair as I was learning more about all the fun chairs available and was pumped at what this one offered.
The Kelsyus Original Canopy Chair with Ottoman boasts both a canopy and an ottoman to take your relaxation to the next level. The Kelsyus chair claims:

- Wide breathable mesh seat with a rounded front for ergonomic comfort.
- Large cup holder with O-ring keeps beverages secure.

I got the Kelsyus chair in and pulled it out. The first thing I noticed was that it wasn’t housed in one of those bag sleeves (that I hate if we are being honest) it actually appeared to use a part of the chair (the canopy) to keep the chair together while traveling. There is also a carrying strap that you can put on your shoulder to take the chair wherever you go. I put it on my shoulder an off I went to find the perfect spot to test this chair out.
Once I located the spot I unclipped the canopy (remember it wraps around the chair for traveling) and then opened the chair up. I pulled the canopy up until it clicked into place and then flipped out the ottoman. It was all set up in under a minute. The chair has a simple set up and the ottoman can adjust to have it closer or further away, depending on how tall you are. The chair is equipped with only one drink holder. I think there should always be two cup holders because I usually put my cell phone in the other one. The ottoman is the first I’ve ever seen with a tailgating style chair. I like the idea as it is pretty comfy. I still don’t think the ottoman compares to those you can find in your home, but let’s rememer we are talking about something on a tailgating chair.
The canopy is another great feature to have because for me the sun can burn! I burn pretty easy and always look for a good shady spot in the heat of the summer. This canopy can help block those suns harmful rays from burning you up. They rate this at 50 SPF.
One thing to be careful with is putting the ottoman up when not in use (it simply folds up towards the chair) as some could trip over this.
PROS: canopy to help block sun, ground breaking ottoman to put your feet up, easy to transport
CONS: only one cup holder, must be careful with ottoman so no one trips.
Overall, this takes the basic tailgating chair and takes it to a whole new level. I love the features of this chair and I think this will make the top ten tailgating chairs in my future segment to help show off my favorite all time tailgating chairs.
