Chute 21 Game Review

Yard games are the best part of tailgating and Chute 21 is the new game on the block that is ready to get the party going. Chute 21 takes the classic game of cornhole and makes it more portable, challenging and dare we say, FUN with a unique chute feature. Time to let the mini cornhole bags fly and see how this new game does in our Tailgating Challenge. Thanks for checking out the Chute 21 Game Review.

How To Play Chute 21

-First Team/Player to 21 Wins

-1 Point for landing a bag on the platforms

-3 points if the bag goes down the chute

-Play to 21 (as if that’s a shock based on the name)

What Did We Think Of This Game?

We love testing out new games and seeing the compact design of this game piqued our interest. My first thoughts were this game is like perfecting the ‘air mail’ shot in cornhole. You have small platform to land a bag on and you want to try to shoot it down the chute.

Setup of Chute 21 is simple, as there are multiple pieces that slide and click into each other. If you’re playing outdoor there are stakes to secure to the ground. For those that opted to get the Chute 21 GLO there is one additional step to install the remote-controlled light in the base of each stand. Set up only takes a moment and tear down is just as quick. You can watch the video below to see the full set up.

Now that the game is set up how does it play? You will set the two Chute 21 games 10 feet apart and then it’s gametime. The bags are not the normal regulation size of “normal” cornhole bags, they are smaller. It may take you a moment to adjust to the difference in size and weight. Once you get into your groove you will find the bags can be a little hard to ‘stick’ on the platform unless you add a little height to your shots.

There is something oddly satisfying about making the airmail shot and then watching your bag drop down the chute. The GLO version makes the full tube light up and look pretty sweet in low light situations. Speaking of the GLO mode I think it’s worth the upgrade (extra $10) to have the tubes light up and change colors at night, looks amazing.

We played this game at the beach, parks, parking lots and indoors. The one thing that some may notice when they first play on a flat, hard surface is the game may wobble when bags hit it. We have played for months and while there was a little wobble it never fell down. If you’re on sand/grass the 3 stakes hold it down to make it amazingly sturdy. We had gamers from age 10 to 75 play and all loved playing Chute 21. Honestly it was hard to pull them away when it was time to go and says a lot,

Conclusion

PROS: easy set-up, light up version looks great in low light, unique chute design, portability, play on hard or soft surfaces, ability to have an adjustable higher or lower playing surface for the entire family
CONS: wish the carry case was a little bigger to fit everything in a little easier

Overall, if you’re looking for a fun new game that everyone at the tailgate will love, Chute 21 could be for you!
