We’ve tested numerous items that are all about keeping many drinks cold, but never have we tested out a fridge that only keeps ONE drink cold. The Guay Outdoors Single Can Fridge is literally a fridge to keep one canned beverage cold.
We got our Guay Outdoors Thermoelectric USB Can Fridge in and started thinking: who needs to keep just one drink cold? It seems like overkill for a single can. As I looked into it further I realized this is not a product for big tailgate or homegating event, but it’s something to be used while you work. It can keep that drink chilled for you while you’re working in your office.
Let’s look at some of the features of this single can fridge:
-USB powered
-Cools to 22 degrees F below ambient temperature
-Whisper quiet motor
Once we realized that this was for the office we also learned that your laptops USB plug will work to power this single can fridge. We left one beer in this fridge for about 3 hours and the temperature test showed it come in at right under 44 degrees. Given that the cooling power of this fridge is dictated by the ambient temperature you’ll be able to tell how cold your drink will be. For example if it’s 70 degrees in your office then you can estimate the beverage to be around 48 degrees F in the fridge.
The motor is quiet! I had to bring my ear close to the fridge to hear it as I didn’t even know if it was on the first time I plugged it in.
I would still like to see this made for a six pack, as the single drink is not something that I’m going to use often. Again, that is me personally, but having an offering to hold more than one drink would be of more value to me.
