Megawise Testing
When I first opened the Megawise out of the box I was impressed with the case that you slide the Megawise Jump Starter and battery cables into. It all fits in perfectly and its a semi-hard case to help protect from impacts.
The first test was what we do with most portable power stations, charging electronic devices. I liked the fact that there are two USB plugs and one of them is the quick charging port to get your personal electronics charged up even faster.
The unit has a built in light that can shine solid, or SOS lighting. This will be handy should your vehicle have a dead battery at night. This allowed us to easily see in the engine compartment to hook up the battery cables.
Finally, let’s get into what makes the Megawise Jump Starter so special, the ability to jump start a vehicle! A fully charged unit can get between 10-20 jump starts for your vehicles depending on the size of the battery/engine displacement.
To jump the dead battery:
-Plug the jumper cable into the Megawise battery pack
-Connect the jumper clamps to the car battery (remember Red is positive, Black is negative) and press the circular power button
-Turn the key to start the vehicle
This should get the vehicle started. If it does not, check your connections and give it a minute before attempting again.
What I also liked is that this can also be a battery tester, as it will give you a digital readout of the battery voltage.
Conclusion
PROS: good case, lightweight, shows voltage of vehicle batteries, can jump start a car.
CONS: does not have a 3 prong outlet for charging some electric devices
Overall, this Megawise Jump Starter lived up to what it promised. I’m leaving one of these in our vehicle, so we never have to worry about a dead battery again.
