What Did We Think?
We will ‘grade’ this cooler by focusing on the portability, how well it keeps things cool, accessories and overall quality of the cooler.
First up, lets get right into the claims of portability and being the top rolling cooler on the market. There are 9 inch all terrain wheels on this cooler that help it glide over different surfaces. We took this over paved parking lots, grassy areas, beach sand and rocky terrain. This cooler handled every condition with ease. I even said in the video review, below, this cooler drives like a Caddy! There is also a foot pad that helps you easily tilt the cooler back to get it moving. This cooler is not overly heavy, tipping the scales at just 28 pounds (dry weight). Overall, the portability of this cooler is amazing and we agree that this is the best rolling cooler we have ever tested.
Being portable is great but how does this cooler handle its primary job, keeping stuff cold? We put 10 pounds of ice in the cooler and it kept ice for almost 6 days! We left the cooler outside and checked back every 24 hours to see how the ice was doing and came away impressed that it really will keep things ice cold for far longer than any tailgate we have ever attended.
This cooler has a ton of optional accessories that use the Anchr pin system that are on all sides of this cooler. This allows you to attach items such as cup holders, cutting board, umbrella holder, storage system, and more. These items can really take the cooler to the next level. Of course, these additional items do not come with the cooler, but can be purchased as upgrades.
Conclusion
PROS: the wheels are amazing, the handle is solid, side open lid, dry storage area, ability to add accessories
CONS: I tried to find something that could have been better with this cooler and just couldn’t. One additional upgrade could be lights to add inside the cooler for those night parties.
Overall, if you’re looking for the ultimate rolling cooler for your next tailgating party then the Rovr 45 cooler could be just what the tailgating dr. ordered.
