What Did We Think?
The first reaction when you unbox this item is WOW the styling is unlike anything I have seen with the numerous backpack coolers that I’ve tested in the past. Those that know me, know I love items that stand out and this backpack fits the bill with its unique styling. They even did a stylish interior liner that looks the inside of a fancy sports coat.
Styling check, but how’s the cooling powers? I normally use backpack coolers when walking around tailgates to easily get around while keeping cold drinks within reach. I want great ice retention for 24 hours. In our testing the Zero Ice reusable ice cubes kept things amazingly cold for the full day of tailgating at Colorado State. I left the cooler outside when I got home and the following afternoon checked and drinks were still nice and cold. Reminder that ambient temps and how much you open the cooler will impact how long things stay cold. All that to say this cooler passed the test for exactly what we need in a tailgating backpack cooler.
Finally, lets talk about some of the additional options on this cooler that take it to the next level. The full cushioned back and straps made carrying a fully cooler much more comfortable. Unlike some backpack coolers there is a large zipper pocket that can hold can openers, koozies etc. What could be the most unique feature are the tactical carabiner loops up both side of the cooler. At first I was like sure I can hang a water bottle or some gear off of these, but then a magical tailgating moment happened and I realized I could attach mini bottles on both sides! The looks and comments I got walking around with this tailgating approved backpack were epic!
