Broo Craft Beer Hair Review

I love beer. The taste, the creativity of the ingredients, the friendships, the feeling, everything about drinking beer is awesome. We should do more than just drink beer. We should bathe in it. The team at BROO agreed with those passionate about beer and created a full line up of shower products infused with BEER!

When I came across the BROO brand I knew I had to test these shower products out, as the number one ingredient in most of them is: BEER! They sent over a package containing Shampoo, Conditioner, Soap and Body Wash. In looking over the labels on these they all had BEER as the number one ingredient (except for the bar of soap), how cool is that?

Before we go any further WHY should anyone care if beer is an ingredient in their shower products? Well aside from it being fun, beer also has multiple benefits that make it a perfect companion for your shower.

-Improves Damaged Skin Cells
-Helps with skin conditions like Eczema
-Natural Exfoliator
-May help reduce wrinkles
-Fights acne
-Hydrates skin
-Conditions your hair
-Softens skin
-Adds volume to hair
(your individual results may vary)
Shampoo/Conditioner in Action:

We heated up the shower and then jumped in to test out the products. In using the shampoo the first thing you notice is the amazing smell. The smell is great and it has peppermint and caffeine in the mixture to get a ‘cool’ feeling on your scalp. As noted, the number one ingredient is BEER, but there is zero beer smell for those worried about going to work smelling like beer. It has more of a peppermint smell.

Here is what is in the Shampoo and Conditioner and what’s NOT in there:

Invigorating Shampoo:

Beer, Water, Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, Glycerin, Sodium Lauroyl Sarcosinate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Capryloyl/Caproyl Methyl Glucamide, Cyamopsis Tetragonoloba (GUAR) Gum, Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Oil, Menthol, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Sodium PCA, Glycol Distearate, Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride, Sodium Benzoate, Caffeine, Citric Acid, Potassium Sorbate, *Fragrance. (*100% Natural Fragrance)

Invigorating Conditioner:

Beer, Cetyl Alcohol, Glycerin, Behentrimonium Chloride, Stearic Acid, Tocopheryl Acetate, Menthol, Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Oil, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Hydroxypropyl Guar, Sodium Benzoate, Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride, Capryloyl Glycerin/Sebacic Acid Copolymer, Diheptyl Succinate, Caffeine, Citric Acid, Potassium Sorbate, *Fragrance. (*100% Natural)

Things NOT in BROO:

no sodium lauryl/laureth sulfates • no parabens • no phthalates • no silicones • no dyes • no artificial fragrance • no harsh preservatives • no phenoxyethanol • no PEGs • no DEAs, MEAs, TEAs • no dioxane • no polyquaterniums • NO Animal testing.

Hydrating Bar Shampoo Soap

They also make a Shampoo + Soap bar that has built in massage nodules in the bar to help melt away the stresses of a long day. The soap smells nice (not as good as the shampoo) and while I was a fan of the soap my wife did not enjoy as much. She believed other soaps hydrated her skin better. In speaking with the team at BROO they stated they have heard similar feedback from women and are doing a redesign based on this feedback.

What’s it the soap?

Sodium Palmate, Sodium Palm Kernelate, Water, Glycerin, Fragrance*, Beer, Sodium Gluconate, Palm Acid, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Sodium Chloride, Palm Kernel Acid, Diheptyl Succinate, Iron Oxides (CI 77492), Capryloyl Glycerin/Sebacic Acid Copolymer, Citric Acid. (*100% Natural)

The shampoo was my favorite item in the line up, as it made my scalp feel great. You wouldn’t know there was beer in these products, as there is zero beer smell, but knowing that beer is a main ingredient makes me happy and I think I’m going to grab a beer and jump in the shower now!
