Beer and Brats have always been a great pairing, so why not infuse the brats with the beer? That’s exactly what Budweiser and Coleman Natural Foods just did with their brats. Each of their three flavors comes with the American classic Budweiser beer in each brats.
Once we learned about this collaboration we were on board and knew we needed to test these brats out, as this is an excellent pairing for those cookouts whether you’re tailgating or homegating. These come in three flavors:
-Beer and Cheese.
These brats come fully cooked and should be heated up for 10-12 minutes to warm up. We fired up the grill and put all three of these on the grill to compete in our Tailgating Challenge. When cooking don’t go too far over the 12 minutes, as some of the cheese could leak out as these brats start to split from the heat.
The Budweiser Brats are pork, raised in the USA, Crate Free, No Antibiotics, No Added Hormones.
Ingredients (Beer and Cheese)
Pork Raised Without, Antibiotics, Cheddar Cheese [Pasteurized, Milk, Cheese Culture, Salt, Enzyme, Annatto, (Vegetable Color)], Budweiser American, Lager Beer (Water, Barley Malt, Rice, and, Hops), Caramelized Onion [Onion, Natural, Onion Flavor (Arabic Gum, Natural Flavors, Rice Concentrate, Maltodextrin)], Seasoning, (Dextrose, Spices, Garlic Powder), Salt, Vinegar, Cultured Celery Powder, Sea Salt. In, a Natural Pork Casing.
These brats got nice and brown on the grill and smelled great as they neared completion. We pulled these brats off the grill and started sampling. We took a bite of each with no bun, or condiments to ensure we got the full flavor profile. After tasting each and checking in with our guests, who were also sampling, we came up with our rankings of these Budweiser Brats.
3. Classic. While these were good, they didn’t bring anything extra to the party and hence their number 3 ranking.
2. Jalapeno Cheddar. These had a nice kick of spice to activate your palette. Not overly spicy, but enough kick to let your taste buds know that some jalapeno is built into these brats.
1.Beer and Cheese. These were the peoples choice award as everyone that went through the taste test had this as their favorite. They had great flavor and were the most juicy of all the brats we tested out.
When I hear of these collaborations I never know if they are going to be awesome or just a gimmick. I go into the reviews with an open mind, but in full transparency these were some of the best brats I’ve ever had. The guests at the party agreed, as we were more impressed than we thought we would be. Again, I never get paid to give reviews, so I can keep it real with each of you. I CHALLENGE you to try these and then let me know if I’m off base with my thoughts of these being excellent brats.
Overall, this is a great collaboration between Budweiser and Coleman Natural Foods. We were skeptical before we tried these, but one taste made us a believer in these Budweiser infused brats.
