Hammocks are great to relax in but, you always have to find the right place to set up and then worry about the sun burning you. In this new review we found the Equip framed hammock that can be set up anywhere and has an adjustable canopy to help the sun off of you while you get your relaxation on. Hammock Testing
This hammock stood out to us when we saw pics online on how it set up with the adjustable canopy on top. We have tested out a few hammocks in our past and loved the idea about being able to easily set this up at a tailgating event, if you needed to take a load off.
Think a hot tailgating afternoon and you can relax in a hammock with a canopy providing shade from the harsh sun. This seems like winning to me.
The hammock comes in a carrying case with one strap (we’d like to see two straps on here to use like a backpack). The entire hammock weighs 27 pounds, so you won’t be able to take this everywhere with you given the weight. The hammock itself can hold up to 300 pounds.
Setting up the Hammock
The set up took me about 5 minutes alone. You can set it up in half the time with another person assisting. You will see us set up the hammock in the video below. First take the frame out and stretch it out. There are 4 pins on the bottom you’ll slide into the holes to secure the frame.
Next up, time to attach the hammock. There are 2 ‘S’ hooks included in the package that you will need as the hammock won’t stretch far enough without them.
Now it’s time to get the canopy ready. There are three poles that will insert into the canopy to form the structure. Then you will insert these into the plugs on each side that have 3 holes in them.
Viola, the canopy is set up and ready for relaxation!
How Did It Feel?
The hammock is tight and is a little unsteady for some when they got into the hammock. Unfortunately, a few fell off when they got into the hammock. Once you get positioned in the hammock it is quite nice with the shade over the top.
We’d love to see the hammock give a little more relaxed feel to allow you to sink in and give more stability.
Conclusion
PROS: sets up anywhere, the adjustable canopy is a gamechanger
CONS: the actual hammock could be improved for improved stability and comfort
